Electrical Installation Condition Reports
(EICR’s or known as fixed wire testing)
- For properties with a new rental agreement commencing from July 1, 2020, a valid certificate must be supplied to each tenant within 28 days.
- For existing or long-term tenancies lacking a valid electrical safety certificate, compliance must be achieved by April 1, 2021.
Recognising the elapsed time since this regulation's introduction, landlords who have not acquired an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) may be held liable for any electrical faults in the property.
