BS9990 – Dry Riser British Standard

Our adherence to BS9990:2015 ensures that your Dry Riser system meets the highest standards, providing a reliable and compliant fire safety solution.

Why Dry Risers are Necessary

Dry Risers become essential in buildings exceeding 18 meters in height or with floors more than 10 meters below ground. Their significance lies in providing a quick and efficient water supply to firefighters on each floor during a fire.

How Dry Risers Work

Firefighters connect hoses to the inlet on the ground floor, pressurizing the system with water. They can then access water outlets on each floor, saving time and ultimately lives.

Regulations and Legal Requirements

We emphasise adherence to British Standards such as BS9990:2015, BS9991, BS9999, and Approved Document B (Fire Safety) of the Building Regulations (England & Wales). Annual testing and certification are legal requirements.

Responsibility for Dry Riser Testing

The property owner, landlord, or facilities manager is responsible for ensuring that all Dry Risers in the building undergo annual testing and hold a valid certificate of compliance.
